The top of the fridge -
such a great place to sit things -
such a great place to collect clutter.
I have been able to break the habit
of storing things on the top of my fridge
since it is the first thing you see
when you come into the house
through the back porch.
This is what it has looked like
for quite a long time now.
Very boring.
When I saw this clock at a local thrift store
I knew it would be perfect in my house
somewhere.
I just wasn't sure exactly where
so it sat for a few weeks
while I contemplated where it should go.
I also found this little tealight teapot
at the same time
and thought they would go good together.
And then it hit me.
They would be perfect on top of the fridge.
The rose cloth was in my cupboard
and I kept the lantern that was originally there,
added a bottle that my mom had given me
and a flower in a rosebowl
to balance out the one side of the clock
while the little teapot sits on the other side.
I just love the detail on this bottle.
And now my fridgetop
is something pretty to look at.

It looks fabulous. I love the cloth also, and you have really created a lovely vignette. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteThank you Marty. I have to admit you have inspired me to become more creative when doing my vignettes!
ReplyDeleteI love the little tea light and you are right...the work on the top of that bottle is worth spending time looking at. So often we accept things without really seeing what is there. Thanks for that lesson! Have a great weekend. Joan
ReplyDeleteYou did a wonderful job on top of the fridge. The clock is beautiful and everything goes so well together. I don't have a proper fridge. We use an old Pepsi cooler from our Restaurant days and it sits in the pantry. Weather is perfect here. Hope you have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteOoohh, how lovely!
ReplyDeleteIt's a very good idea indeed to make it so much more beautiful than it is most of the time. I am not having such a model of fridge but I keep your idea in mind for other places I am going to steady up a bit.
Wishing you a nice sunday,
Thank you everyone for your wonderful comments! They make my day :)
ReplyDeleteI love decorating the top of the fridge! Yours looks wonderful and I love the clock.
ReplyDeleteThank You for sharing and I hope you have a wonderful week!

ReplyDeleteWell...you know...that's the prettiest top of a refrigerator I've ever seen. I feel ashamed now and think I'll go study mine for a while. I've never thought of doing something so nice on the refrigerator..but I think I just might...I just might...

This is beautiful! My top of the fridge has a cooking--French country theme. I have an old grape crate that I got years ago. In it are rows of interesting cooking liquor bottles. On one edge are pretty wine bottles with beautiful labels, and in the back corner are tall eucalytus branches to add height. Behind it all is a wall-mounted, small antique cabinet that is painted white, distressed, and inside are pots and poppy seed heads that I dried and painted all gold. It all works together and I like it!
ReplyDeleteBetty - I hope you share some pics when you're done :)
ReplyDeleteAthena - Your fridge top sounds lovely!
Pretty indeed Alana. The clock is so sweet and I love how it all came together. I have a cabinet above my frige so now room for anything but dust. lol! Thanks for sharing with Share Your Cup.
