Around Our Sunday Table: Golden Greens

Thou hast given so much to me,
Give one thing more, - a grateful heart;
Not thankful when it pleaseth me,
As if Thy blessings had spare days,
But such a heart whose pulse may be Thy praise.
~George Herbert~

Another week has flown by
and as we gather around our Sunday table
it is time for us to stop and reflect
on the many things we have to be thankful for this week.

This week I was able to spend some quality time with my son.
It is harder now that he is grown
which makes the time all that much more special

I am thankful for my in-laws 50th Wedding Anniversary Celebration.
It was great to visit with extended family
but also to celebrate 50 years of marriage.
What a heritage they are passing down to their family.

I had a wonderful Skype time with my daughter this week,
catching up on all the news.

I am thankful for the good weather we have had this past week
which allowed us to finish the outside Christmas décor.

I am thankful for the Christmas lights on display as I drive around our neighborhood.
They bring me such joy!

What are you thankful for this week?

Another snow storm and once again family members travelling.
I am thankful once again for safe travel.

A hubby who notices and takes care of the little things.
He noticed that outside back door wasn't sealing 100%
and got busy and fixed it right away.

I am thankful for quiet days working around the home.

I am thankful we were able to find a trustworthy mechanic
that our daughter could take her car to.

I am thankful that the mechanic was able to find the problem
and fix it and that the bill wasn't too high.

I am thankful hubby was called in to work.
The unexpected overtime pay will cover the car repair cost.
God provided before we even knew our need.

What are you thankful for this week?

Celebrating Spring

We had a wonderful time celebrating over Easter.

My original plan for the table was for a totally different color scheme.

But when I went to buy the flowers I fell in love with the
pink hydrangea blossoms and loved how the red tulips accented them so nicely,
so it was a change of plans.

I wanted to use my Silver Birch dishes.

And everything came together for a pretty spring celebration.

But no matter what I put on top of my table it just isn't complete
until it is surrounded by family and friends.

Simple Christmas Table

For my first Christmas tablescape of the season
I thought I would go with something simple.

The white floral centerpiece
is accompanied by white bird candles.

The quilted tablerunner and matching placemats
were a thrift store find.

I love the burgundy and green color in them
and pulled those colors in with the dishes and accents.

No tablecloth to keep the look simple.

A quick and easy table to put together
for a busy time of year.

Colors of Fall Table

It is almost that time to begin thinking winter tablescapes
so I thought I would get in a final few fall tablescapes
before the snow really begins to fly.

I started off with my brown tablecloth
with delicate leaf details.

Pumpkins are a fall decorating staple
and I love the orange color.

Some pretty colored fall leaves.

Some deep red flowers and some pumpkin candles.

Makes for a pretty centerpiece.

Added my simple white dishes with beige napkins
and a delicate little leaf.

And the table is dressed in pretty fall color.
