How Do You Spend Your Last Day of Vacation?

Our daughter calls our last day of our visit
“Sad Blob Day” 😂
We started off the day with brunch
at Virginia Kitchen.

We then spent some time
on the deck enjoying the flowers
and the weather.

While I started on packing
and my daughter did some cleaning
the guys had naps.

We decided to stretch our legs a bit
and took a neighbourhood stroll.

I wish my neighbourhood stroll was this pretty.

We decided to order in from Carrabba’s for dinner

and finished the evening with some pretty toes.

We managed to keep busy so we weren’t too sad.
We will save that for tomorrow
when we have to say good bye.

Flowers for the Garden

After puttering in the garden
and getting it cleaned out
we decided to do some planting.

So we headed off to Lowe’s
to find the perfect flowers
for my daughter’s garden.

We found these beautiful Clematis plants.

My daughter loves the look of the tree stump
and wants the plants to grow up around it.

Hubby and daughter got some
father daughter time as they
transplanted the plants.

We also found this beautiful Begonia.

And a few Hydrangea pots.

Then we planted Sweet Peas to grow up the trellis.

I can’t wait to see them in bloom!

Shopping, Gardening & Plenty of Eats

We woke up to a rainy day so we headed to Red Robin for lunch
and then to the mall for some shopping.

We then headed over to River-Sea Chocolates
for a chocolate haul to take home.

The next couple of days were nicer weather.

Both kiddos had to work so we puttered around
the house and garden
and dog sat.

I baked a chocolate cake to go with afternoon coffee.

And then spent some time in the garden
and cleared out some old bushes
and the leaves.

There’s nothing quite like relaxing in the garden!

Frying Pan Park

We were up and out the door to try Bobby’s Bagels for breakfast.

The bagels were delicious!

We then headed to Lake Anne Plaza.

We just strolled around and enjoyed the scenery.

We always enjoy seeing the turtles
which is something we don’t have at home.

We did miss the cherry blossoms
but we did get a picture of the bridge.

We stopped and checked out the used book store
and a little coffee shop.

We then headed off to Frying Pan Park.
It was a lot warmer than we anticipated
but we enjoyed hanging out by the stream.

And we had to check out the little Country Store.

We headed back home for coffee
and Christmas!
My daughter saved a couple of gifts
that wouldn’t fit into the parcel.

Then it was time to eat once again!
We felt like Italian so we were off to Carrabba’s
for another delicious meal!
