Week In Review

With the weather warming up I decided it was time
to do a closet purge and reorganization.
It was definitely needed.
I usually have a pretty good handle on what is in my closet
but for some reason last year things got out of control.
No more though, things are now back under control

I went over to my son & daughter-in-law's
and helped them with some spring cleaning.
They have been so sick for so long and
I was glad I was able to give them a helping hand.
My daughter-in-law treated me to Pupusas for the first time
which I quite enjoyed.

Monday I got a surprised letter from a young friend of mine.
We used to work together until she moved away.
We used to just keep in touch at Christmas
but have started writing more frequently.
It makes my heart sing when I get a letter from her.

Tuesday night I pulled out my stitching
which has been on a break since before our vacation.

It probably wasn't the best night to work on it
as I was extremely tired
and ended up having to take out everything I put in.

Wednesday morning I was up early and off the dentist before work.
I was glad to get a clear bill of health on my teeth!
No fillings or crows needed.

Thursday I stopped to visit my parents and they gave me this picture.
It has special meaning and I have always loved it.
We lived in the Northwest Territories and when we left
my parents were gifted this beautiful
Moose Hair Tufted picture.
These are made completely by hand and represent hours of work.
I just have to find the perfect spot to hang it.

Friday my car had to be taken in for a tire repair.
It picked up this nail.
Thankfully the tire was still under warranty
and it just cost us our time of having to take it in.

I hope you had a wonderful week!

My Week in Pictures

Lists, lists and more lists.
Last weekend was spent making lists,
pulling out the suitcases,
and the early stages of packing.

The wind was howling something fierce the beginning of the week.
It made me think of the poem,
"Who Has Seen the Wind"
by Christina Rossetti

Who has seen the wind?
Neither I nor you:
But when the leaves hang trembling,
The wind is passing through.

Who has seen the wind?
Neither you nor I:
But when the trees bow down their heads
The wind is passing by.
~Christina Rossetti~

I have seen this little guy around our yard
and when I came home from work
he decided to be friendly.
Almost too friendly.
He couldn't figure why I wouldn't let him in the house.

What do you not see in this picture?

The weather coincided with hubby's days off
and he was finally able to take down
the outdoor Christmas decorations!

We finished off the week with some beautiful weather
and I was able to enjoy a cup of coffee outside after work
with hubby.

I hope you all had a great week!

Week In Review - Adventures & Mishaps

What a roller coaster week it has been.
I got home from work and was just about to start cooking
when the power, with a lot of buzzing and surging,
dramatically went out.
It took four hours before it was back on.
Thankfully I was able to catch hubby
on his way home from work
and he was able to pick up something for supper.

I packed up a parcel for my daughter this week
and shipped it off.
The next parcel will be hand delivered!

I had my nails done this week and went for a bright spring look.

I had to purchase a new rice cooker this week.
I had the unfortunate accident of leaving my rice cooker
sitting on the stove and then turning on the wrong element
and cooking the bottom of my rice cooker.
I am just thankful I caught what was happening before
anything more serious happened.

I finished off the week with a stop at a local clothing store
and found this nice spring shirt for work.
It was a good way to round out this week of ups and downs.

Hope you all had a great week!

My Week In Pics

Got a start on some Christmas baking with some homemade Nuts & Bolts.

Brunch with Hubby.
Can you believe we have never been to
I-Hop for breakfast?

Some Dollar Store finds that fit in
with my Christmas decor perfectly
and I knew right where they would go
when I saw them in the store.
They were the last ones on the shelf!

I made a big batch of Chicken Noodle Soup
and have it ready for lunches.

Nail Day!
Christmas red this time 😊

My old budget binder was literally falling apart
so I went through, updated, and reorganized
and found a new binder.
All set for the new year.

Hope you all had a great week!

Week in Pictures

What a week full of fun and adventures!
After not being able to see our daughter & son-in-law
in over a year and a half we finally got to visit.
There was so much to see and do and catch up on.
We got to see their new home
and we also got to spend some time on their new kayak.
It was wonderful to spend time on the lake with family.

We also got to tour Meadowlark Botanical Gardens.
It was beautiful and we hope to be able to go back
in the spring when the cherry trees are in bloom.

A visit is not complete without a trip to the mall.
We got to visit North America's 10th largest mall
and we made a day of it.

But even the 10th largest mall doesn't have everthing
so my daughter and I spent a day doing "girl" shopping.

Our final day was sad and fun all at the same time.
My daughter is a fabulous cook and made us a delicious meal
and we had fun playing "Uno" which is a family tradition.

Flying home was a little bumpy with some turbulence.
It was also interesting to navigate through all the new checkpoints.
Thankfully, we had all our paperwork in order
and everything went smoothly.

We did a bit more shopping in the "big city"
before heading home
and I found these cute pair of shoes.

Have you been able to visit family
you haven't seen since Covid began?

Week In Review

It has been another great week.
Saturday we got together with family and celebrated
my mom's 72nd birthday.
It's so good to be able to get back together again.

Sunday we got a break from the heat and it rained!
It was so cool we turned on the fireplace
and enjoyed some time watching The Tomorrow War.

Monday & Tuesday were uneventful with long hours at work.
Wednesday when looking out my windows
I noticed a kitty enjoying a nap
on our outdoor furniture.
I do miss having a pet.

The rest of the week was spent getting ready to travel.
Do you think we have enough masks?
