Around Our Sunday Table

Thou hast given so much to me,
Give one thing more, - a grateful heart;
Not thankful when it pleaseth me,
As if Thy blessings had spare days,
But such a heart whose pulse may be Thy praise.
~George Herbert~

It is our first Sunday back from our holidays
and we have so much to be thankful for.

The fact the we were finally able to travel to see family
is a blessing I think we often took for granted.

It was so wonderful to have some "girl time" with my daughter.

Safe travels there and home.
A lot of driving and a lot of flying
and all went well despite some storms.

I am thankful for our kind and generous
son-in-law who took extra time off work
and drove us around to the many things we did.

What are you thankful for today?

Week in Pictures

What a week full of fun and adventures!
After not being able to see our daughter & son-in-law
in over a year and a half we finally got to visit.
There was so much to see and do and catch up on.
We got to see their new home
and we also got to spend some time on their new kayak.
It was wonderful to spend time on the lake with family.

We also got to tour Meadowlark Botanical Gardens.
It was beautiful and we hope to be able to go back
in the spring when the cherry trees are in bloom.

A visit is not complete without a trip to the mall.
We got to visit North America's 10th largest mall
and we made a day of it.

But even the 10th largest mall doesn't have everthing
so my daughter and I spent a day doing "girl" shopping.

Our final day was sad and fun all at the same time.
My daughter is a fabulous cook and made us a delicious meal
and we had fun playing "Uno" which is a family tradition.

Flying home was a little bumpy with some turbulence.
It was also interesting to navigate through all the new checkpoints.
Thankfully, we had all our paperwork in order
and everything went smoothly.

We did a bit more shopping in the "big city"
before heading home
and I found these cute pair of shoes.

Have you been able to visit family
you haven't seen since Covid began?
