Christmas Fridgetop Vignette

When you come in our home through the back door
the first view that a persons eyes fall upon from the back porch doorway
is the top of our fridge.
So I try to keep it interesting.

I started with this Christmas ornament cloth.

And kept the herbed vinegar and lantern
that I had used in my fall vignette.

And added a little gold gift and a wreath
along with a candle on the other side of the wreath.
I love decorating the top of the fridge
because it makes the whole kitchen
feel ready for Christmas.
Now, just to do some Christmas baking :)

Teapot Vignette

I decided to switch up my dining room vignette.

This is what it looked like before.
It was lovely for spring but summer has arrived
and it was time for a change.

I decided to use this little teapot and cream and sugar set
with the hydrangeas on them.
I love hydrangeas and this set was a gift from my parents.

The little frame window was a yard sale find
and the little milk bottle is light pink.
I added this teacup because the color
pulloed out the blue on the hydrangeas wonderfully.

A candle that was a gift from my daughter
adds the finishing touch
and my little corner of the dining room
is ready for summer.

Porch Vignette

I wanted to make one of the spaces in our porch
more welcoming
as it is normally a spot that collects clutter.

So, I started collecting a few things
from what I had around the house,
a few things from Dollarama and thrift stores
and a few things from yard sales.

This little garden ornament was from Dollarama.
I love butterflies and bees and flowers.

This little basket I found at a thrift store.
I love the vines on it.

This pretty little plaque was also a thrift store find.
I just love the colors.

This little jug was given to me many years ago.

I thought it went well with the pretty little box
that I found at Dollarama.

The flowers I had on hand
and can't wait until there are enough flowers
blooming in my garden to cut and add here.

I like my new little vignette
and hope it is a cheery welcome
for my back door friends :)

Awkward Space Update for Summer

Do you remember my Awkward Space?
Well, it got a little update for summer
with a few yard sale finds.

First I changed the flowers
from the tulips to the lilies.

Then I added this cute little lamp which was a yard sale find.

And at the same yard sale I also found
this wonderfully long cloth that covered both bookcases
and gave it a softer look.
It always surprises me how just a few simple things can change a look.

Summer Table Vignette

I loved the colors so much when I did my
that I decided to use them for a summer table vignette.

I find this very practical for the table that we use every day.

And I love the purple, pinks and oranges.

It's so bright and cheery which has been nice
since outside it has been so gray and rainy.

I actually used the napkin rings as part of the vignette
and then when I set the table
they are right there to pop onto the napkins.

I find it is a quick, easy and practical way
to have a pretty table without a lot of fuss.

Outdoor Vignette

I so enjoy having my morning cup of coffee
on the back deck.

I have a wonderful view of the backyard
as I watch the sun come up.

I found this wonderful little ice bucket
at a recent yard sale.
I wasn't sure where I was going to put it
but I knew it would be perfect somewhere.

I also found this basket of flowers
at the same yard sale.

So why not use them to make a little vignette
by my favorite morning spot?

I added this lantern that I have had for years and years.
The color matches perfectly with the little ice bucket :)

Now I have a pretty little corner to add enjoyment to my morning.
Now, if only the weather would warm up.
