Back Porch Christmas

We have a lovely little back porch
that was added some years ago onto our house.

A few years ago we took out the old closets
and freshened it up a bit.

It is our main entry point into the house
as family and friends all come to the back door.

There is lots of space for jackets and shoes.

It is also one of my favorite spaces to decorate now
as it is the first impression given
when people enter our home.

I love cardinals and my collection has slowly been growing over the years.

Anything red,
anything rustic,
and anything nature inspired
are hard for me to resist.

These two little pieces "Peace" and "Joy"
were added to my collection this year.

They were great Dollar Store finds.

My little snowman is still part of my back porch.
You can find out how I made him here.

I hope you enjoyed visiting my back porch decor.

Do you have a favorite Christmas decor theme?

Terra Cotta Snowman Planter

few years ago I made a little terra cotta plant holder
that I thought turned out so cute.

It is so easy to give it a quick Christmas makeover.
Just a a change of the bow and the addition of
a Christmas poinsettia makes it ready for the holidays.

My hubby came up with the idea that we should make a winter version.
So, I put together the pots and he painted it white for me.
We shopped together for the accessories and he insisted it have a carrot nose,
which I think adds some personality.

So we now have a "Frosty" planter :)

Christmas Cardinal

I love cardinals.
There's just something about them
that I am inexplicably drawn too.

In fact, if I see something with a cardinal on it
I am very hard pressed to pass it by.

So, when I saw this little Cardinal
cross-stitch picture I knew I needed to stitch it.

I am so pleased with how it turned out
and can't wait to display it for Christmas!

Christmas Flower Pots

In the fall I made a little plant holder that I thought was so cute.

This week it received a Christmas make-over.  Just a quick change of the bow
and a Christmas poinsettia makes it ready for the holidays.

My hubby came up with the idea that we should make a winter version.
So, I  put together the pots and he painted it white for me.

We shopped together for the accessories and he insisted it have a carrot nose
which I think adds some personality.

So we now have a "Frosty" planter :)

Christmas Place Cards

I thought I would try my hand at making some Christmas Place Cards out of some bunches I found at Dollarama.

I took some cinnamon sticks and glued them around the base.

Then I added some ribbon.

And the name cards.

I am quite happy with how my little experiment turned out.
