Around Our Sunday Table

Thou hast given so much to me,
Give one thing more, - a grateful heart;
Not thankful when it pleaseth me,
As if Thy blessings had spare days,
But such a heart whose pulse may be Thy praise.
~George Herbert~

It is our first Sunday back from our holidays
and we have so much to be thankful for.

The fact the we were finally able to travel to see family
is a blessing I think we often took for granted.

It was so wonderful to have some "girl time" with my daughter.

Safe travels there and home.
A lot of driving and a lot of flying
and all went well despite some storms.

I am thankful for our kind and generous
son-in-law who took extra time off work
and drove us around to the many things we did.

Around Our Sunday Table - Keeping It Simple

Thou hast given so much to me,
Give one thing more, - a grateful heart;
Not thankful when it pleaseth me,
As if Thy blessings had spare days,
But such a heart whose pulse may be Thy praise.
~George Herbert~

As we gather around our Sunday table
it is time for us to stop and reflect
on the many things we have to be thankful for.

With the heat we have had the past few weeks
I am thankful for the air conditioning we have
and also the opportunity to enjoy a simple meal outside.

It has been wonderful to visit with family members again
in a "normal" environment.
We can see their faces!

What are you thankful for today?

Around Our Sunday Table - Simple Blooms

Thou hast given so much to me,
Give one thing more, - a grateful heart;
Not thankful when it pleaseth me,
As if Thy blessings had spare days,
But such a heart whose pulse may be Thy praise.

It is hard to believe that here we are in the middle of July.
The year is half gone- how quickly time goes by!
As we gather around our Sunday table
it is time for us to stop and reflect
on the many things we have to be thankful for.

That are daughter decided to move back to this area
to be closer to family.
What a delight to have her at family events
and home for Sunday dinners.

Of my family who are 110% supportive
of my going back to school.

That I am able to work and go to school
at the same time without either conflicting.

Veggies from my parents large garden
that they bless us with since I didn't have
put in a garden this year knowing I
wouldn't have time to keep it up.

Camping trips with the family.
We've been able to fit a few of these in this summer
and a few more are planned.

The beautiful summer weather we've been having.

What are you thankful for today?

Around Our Sunday Table - Lovely Poinsettias

Thou hast given so much to me,
Give one thing more, - a grateful heart;
Not thankful when it pleaseth me,
As if Thy blessings had spare days,
But such a heart whose pulse may be Thy praise.

It is hard to believe that here we are at First Advent.
Where did the year go?
As we gather around our Sunday table
it is time for us to stop and reflect
on the many things we have to be thankful for.

That this cold that hit me came when it did -
on a set of 5 days off work,
allowing me to actually rest.

That my hubby is always willing to help with the little things,
making sure the humidifier is always full,
hauling full laundry baskets up and down the stairs,
even making supper if he has too :)

The job the Lord has provided.
It was so unexpected and not in my field
but is true blessing in so many ways.

Being able to Facetime with my daughter.

Visiting with our son who always keeps
the conversation interesting.

Our wonderful new church family.

What are you thankful for today?

Around Our Sunday Table: Icy Blue

Thou hast given so much to me,
Give one thing more, - a grateful heart;
Not thankful when it pleaseth me,
As if Thy blessings had spare days,
But such a heart whose pulse may be Thy praise.

Another week has flown by
and as we gather around our Sunday table
it is time for us to stop and reflect
on the many things we have to be thankful for this week.

What a blizzard we had this past week!
I have never seen so much snow in one day.
I am thankful hubby didn't get stuck at work
and was home safe and sound during the blizzard.

I am thankful that we didn't lose power during the blizzard.

I am thankful for my warm, cozy home.

I am thankful that it seems like we are finally over the virus
we have been fighting for the past month.

I am thankful for the Christmas season.

What are you thankful for this week?

Around Our Sunday Table

It is time for me to pause once again
and take time to give thanks.
Not just at Thanksgiving
but throughout the year.

Number one on my list for this week
is that hubby's blood work came back clear.

It seems that the cost of living keeps going up
but as one bill has gone up
another one has gone down!
For that I am thankful as it keeps our budget even.

I am thankful for Off buttons.
There is a time for TV, radios, music, etc
but I have learned to appreciate the sounds of the world around me,
the birds singing, the wind blowing through the trees, the dog snoring.
Silence allows me to think, to dream, to imagine, to pray.
I am thankful I can turn off the artificial noise around me.

I am thankful for the good weather we have had this week.
It was nice to be able to be outside and enjoy the sun
before winter returns.

I am thankful for the relationship I have with my mother.
It has gone through some rocky times
but we are at a good place now
and it is nice.

What are you thankful for this week?
