Simple Spring Table

I store my seasonal decorations in totes
but over the last few years
my spring and summer decorations
have gotten jumbled together.

So, I decided it was time to pull out all the totes
and get them reorganized.

The plan was to get the totes organized
as well as put out my Easter decorations.

But as I got thinking about it I decided I may as well
skip Easter and jump right into late spring decor
as we will be away over Easter
and it would be time to change things up
once we were home anyways.

So, with my Easter bin organized
I tucked them back away
and went straight to my decor
that I like for the months of May & June.

This is my cute little Teacup & Teapot Salt & Pepper set.

I paired up the Salt & Pepper shakers with a simple white bird.

Lilacs are in bloom here during the months of May & June
so I like to use them in my decor.
Unfortunately, as much as I love the smell
of the real lilacs blooming
my allergies won't allow me to bring them indoors
but they are one of my favorite flowers.

We have purple & white lilacs in our yard,
not quite blooming yet though.
I did see some yellow lilacs for sale in a nursery
and am very tempted to buy some to add to our yard
as I have never seen a yellow lilac in bloom before.

Do you love lilacs as much as I do?
Have you ever seen a yellow lilac?

Simple Centrepiece

I love scrolling through blogs
and seeing the beautiful and creative tablescapes.
However, as much as I enjoy creating a more
elaborate tablescape when family & friends are over,
I find that my simple, everyday table
brings me calm and joy when I come in from my busy day.

These little owls that I am using here are actually
the salt and pepper shakers that stay on the table
and work well together with the floral display
that makes up this winter centerpiece.

I thought I should share it with you before
I change it out to a spring theme.
I love these simple shades of white
with the pussywillows.
It always feels so fresh and clean.

I hope you enjoyed this simple centrepiece.
Do you like to keep it simple or is more elaborate your way to go?

Christmas Fridgetop Vignette

When you come in our home through the back door
the first view that a persons eyes fall upon from the back porch doorway
is the top of our fridge.
So I try to keep it interesting.

I started with this Christmas ornament cloth.

And kept the herbed vinegar and lantern
that I had used in my fall vignette.

And added a little gold gift and a wreath
along with a candle on the other side of the wreath.
I love decorating the top of the fridge
because it makes the whole kitchen
feel ready for Christmas.
Now, just to do some Christmas baking :)

I Love My Snowglobes

I love my snowglobes
and I am so excited this year
because I get to enjoy them even more.

This summer we added an electric fireplace set into a bookshelf
which gives me a long, low surface to work with.

It is the perfect spot to display my favorites Christmas snowglobes.

In previous years my snowglobes were displayed
on top of the old upright piano.

While they looked quite lovely up there
I couldn't enjoy them as much as I can now
since they are on display at a lower height.

But it's not all snowglobes!

This little village scene lights up and plays music.

And these little ponds are adorable.
When you wind them up the skaters glide around the pond to music.

So, these Christmas evenings I get to sit by my fireplace
with my stitching while I enjoy the Christmas
lights reflecting off of my snowglobes
which brings me such delight!

Teapot Vignette

I decided to switch up my dining room vignette.

This is what it looked like before.
It was lovely for spring but summer has arrived
and it was time for a change.

I decided to use this little teapot and cream and sugar set
with the hydrangeas on them.
I love hydrangeas and this set was a gift from my parents.

The little frame window was a yard sale find
and the little milk bottle is light pink.
I added this teacup because the color
pulloed out the blue on the hydrangeas wonderfully.

A candle that was a gift from my daughter
adds the finishing touch
and my little corner of the dining room
is ready for summer.

Porch Vignette

I wanted to make one of the spaces in our porch
more welcoming
as it is normally a spot that collects clutter.

So, I started collecting a few things
from what I had around the house,
a few things from Dollarama and thrift stores
and a few things from yard sales.

This little garden ornament was from Dollarama.
I love butterflies and bees and flowers.

This little basket I found at a thrift store.
I love the vines on it.

This pretty little plaque was also a thrift store find.
I just love the colors.

This little jug was given to me many years ago.

I thought it went well with the pretty little box
that I found at Dollarama.

The flowers I had on hand
and can't wait until there are enough flowers
blooming in my garden to cut and add here.

I like my new little vignette
and hope it is a cheery welcome
for my back door friends :)
