The Simple Woman's Daybook

For today... Sunday, June 17, 2012

Outside my window... Sunshine, blue sky with clouds in the distance and a light breeze.

I am thinking... I am going to have a quiet, relaxing day.

I am thankful for... My home, my family, my many blessings.

From the kitchen...
~Today: Roast Chicken, Buns, Mashed Potatoes, Gravy, Corn, Broccoli with Cheese Sauce, Tossed Salad, Chocolate Roll
~Monday:  BBQ with parents
~Tuesday: Teriyaki Beef & Mushrooms, Rice, Baked Zucchini, Ceasar Salad, Strawberry Rhubarb Crumble
~Wednesday:  Parmesean Fish, Parmesean Potatoes, Green Beans, Carrots, Salad, Chocolate Roll
~Thursday: Chicken Penne Florentine Bake, Ceasar Salad, Chocolate Marble Cake
~Friday: Simple Chicken Bake, Baked Vegetables, Salad, Leftover Dessert
~Saturday: Leftover Smorg

I am wearing... Blue skirt, blue tank and black cardigan.

I am creating... A Daisy Wreath

I am reading...  A Woman After God's Own Heart by Elizabeth George

I am praying for... Our neighbor children.

Pondering these words... To cultivate the sense of the beautiful, is one of the most effectual ways of cultivating an appreciation of the Divine goodness. ~Christian Nestell Bovee~
I am still hoping... To go camping for a few days.

I am hearing... Birds singing, the dog trying to find a comfortable place to lay.

Around the house... Housework and gardening.

One of my favorite things... Birds singing in the morning.

A few plans for the rest of the week... Monday we are going to my parents for supper to celebrate Father's Day, our shower curtain rod is finally in so that will be installed this week and hopefully the weather will cooperate so I can work outside in the garden this week.

Here is a picture thought I am sharing...

Some Father's Day cards I created.

  1. I love the Father's Day cards...I always envy people who are so creative with maling cards etc! The Simple Woman's Day Book seems a good way of bringing our thoughts back here rather than have them way out there! Joan
