The Other Side

A little while ago I showed you my

Today I am going to show you
what the other side of the door looks like.

It started because I wanted to try and hide the view under the deck
at least until we can get it closed in.

It doesn't completely hide the view
but it certainly does draw your eye away from it.

This year I have alyssums and pansies
as well as chives, mint and lemon balm in the larger pots.

Since you are here let me show you around.

Up on the deck my tomato plant is doing very well.
I wish my tomato plants in the garden were just as happy.

My first Livingstone Daisy is blooming.
This is the first year I have grown these.

The lily-of-the-vally is now blooming
and the scent is heavenly.

And the virginia creeper on the garage
is filling in nicely.

And before you go stop in and say hello
to our momma robin.
Even she added a touch of color to her home :)

  1. I love you patio plantings. It reminds me of mine, from my past, living in CA. Fondly. Pansies and tomatoes at the same Mary

  2. This is Love the collection of pots and birdhouses! Looks great!

  3. Very sweet and simply landscaped, I love your beautiful distraction from the under deck view. You have such a good eye for balance and creativity.

  4. Very pretty and welcoming display.

  5. Smart thinking, Alana! What beautiful flowers you are growing. I really love the creeper growing around the garage. Such a nice look.

  6. I enjoyed seeing all your pretty flowers. The virginia creeper makes your garage have a wonderful cottage feel. Wish few vegetables we are growing in pots looked as good as your tomatoes. Thanks for sharing your garden with us at Your Cozy Home Party!

  7. Do you find it difficult keeping up with the watering in your containers? I have come to really appreciate and depend on the moisture retaining gels that I mix in the soil of my pots and baskets... it has made life a lot easier... Larry

  8. Larry - I use specially formulated soil for pots.

  9. I enjoyed your post. . .I have to admit I lingered at the tomatoes. . .wanted to pick one. . .

  10. They are just outside my deck door so it has been wonderful to just open the door and pick some fresh cherry tomatoes for lunch.

  11. it is the simple things that are what is truly amazing! thanks so much for linking up your post to the Cottage Garden party - your patio with the flower pots are perfect! xoxo, tracie
