A Cozy Firepit

When we moved into our home
there was a cemented area at the back.
We mostly ignored it until last year
when we ended up doing some repair to our patio
and moved the patio table to the cemented area.
It ended up being their for most of the summer
and I realized that I had premium space
that I was not utilizing.

So, this year we decided to use the space
to make a cozy little firepit area.

So hubby put the firepit in the middle and I put the chairs around it.
Then I realized that when we sat there
we needed somewhere to place our cups.

I knew what I wanted but they were way out of my price range.
When I saw these pots at JYSK I knew they would work.

I just turned them outside down
and covered them with an old vinyl placement.
They are just perfect for setting your cup on.

I put a planter along the edge of the cement and grass
and filled it with Livinstone Daisies and Night Scented Stock.
Which, as you can see, is beginning to fill out nicely.

It's the perfect space to spend a quiet Saturday evening
roasting marshmallows :)

  1. Love those little tables! We were just thinking we needed something like that for our fire pit area and these would be PERFECT! I don't think we have one of those stores by us though :(

This is perfect! We have a fire box that we haul out every once in a while - love sitting by it on a cool evening.

  4. Nice idea using the pot upside down for a table. Also nice area for your marshmallow roast. I LOVE your little flowers, such vibrant colors.
    Have a great weekend!

  5. I have always thought those fire pits are so much fun...and not so large that they will take over too much room.

  19. Hi Alana,
I use plant pots this way, too.
Your fire pit area is lovely. An arbor over this area sounds prefect.
    Have a good week
