Hearts for Home

Today I am joining in with Gae from Cherished Hearts at Home . She has a weekly post called Hearts for Home which is open for others to link up with and share some thoughts on home-centred ways. She encourages us to think of 4-6 things to commit to each week to make homelife special and to bless us as keepers at home.

Take 2 - Yesterday while working on this post my computer crashed so hopefully the glitches are worked out and everything will be fine today.

Last time I posted I was working on adjusting our schedule.  That has gone well and with everone's schedule constantly changing it has made me really focus on working from my schedule instead of from my head and I have to admit I do seem to get more done.

So, for this week here are a few things I would like to focus on.

1. The information center in the kitchen area needs a clean-up and overhaul.

2. I need to catch up on the pile of paperwork that accumulated on my desk when my computer was down last week.

3. These next few weeks are busy, busy, busy and when I get stressed I can get negative.  So I want to focus on the positives.

4. Clean the bathroom walls.

  1. Oh I know exactly what you mean about getting negative when stressed. I find it helpful to stop everything I am doing and say a prayer asking God to help me get it together. Then, I concentrate on one room or one thing at a time and don't worry about the rest until it's time.

  2. I think everyone tends to get negative when stressed, it's human nature. I know one thing that helps me to clear my mind of stress is a long walk, or a jog. Taking in His creations while moving myself rejuventates me and helps me to prioritize.

    Have a wonderful week!

  3. I become negative when stressed and overwhelmed too. Thank you for this post because now I'll work on that.

  4. I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one who gets negative when stressed. I'm still trying to focus on the positive and express those positive's verbally :) ~Alana~

  5. Hello! I just followed your blog....I found it through Manuela's blog. I got married this summer, and (due to an unexpected move and an extended business trip with my husband) I am just setting up my first home with my husband, so there is definitely some good stuff for me to read here. Thanks!

  7. Kelly - welcome!

I love the idea of making a game of the things I need to do. I will definately try incorporating that into my next few weeks. Thanks!

  8. Alana you seem such a good organiser to me that I think you will probably get through your busy time ok :-) Nevertheless, I pray for mental and physical strength to carry you over every obstacle! We do tend to get negative when our nervous system is under stress. I hope your computer problems are all sorted out now too. Have a very blessed week...Trish
