Hearts for Home

Today I am joining in with Gae from Cherished Hearts at Home . She has a weekly post called Hearts for Home which is open for others to link up with and share some thoughts on home-centred ways. She encourages us to think of 4-6 things to commit to each week to make homelife special and to bless us as keepers at home.

Last time I posted I wanted to get the kitchen info center cleaned up.  Not only did I get that done but I also got my kitchen cupboards cleaned and organzied.  I also cleaned the bathroom walls.  There is also some semblence of order on my desk but it still needs some work.  As for working on being positive, well, let's just say I'm workin on it :)
So, for this week here are a few things I would like to focus on.

1.  I read something today that made me really think.  It was a list of priorities with God first and further down the list was spiritual growth.  I've always lumped the two together so I got thinking about what does it really mean to make God the #1 priority in my life.  Since it is a relationship that needs to be built the act of communing with God would be a #1 priority.  So this week I want every morning to begin with my thoughts turned toward God and every evening to end again with my thoughts turned toward God.

2.  This week I also want to do something special for my hubby each day.  Today I shovelled the driveway (uggh, yes, we got snow, and a lot of it) and made sure it was clear all around the car he will be taking in the morning.  As well, tonight his favorite show is on so I will make sure I have popcorn for him to enjoy.  Something small to show him he's special each and every day this week.

3.  Baking.  I would really like to get a start on some Christmas baking.

4.  Get caught up on laundry and some basic housework that has slipped in the past week with being out so much.

  4. I always do best when I keep God as the number one priority in my life. It seems like it would be such an easy thing to do...but it isn't.
