Hearts for Home

Today I am joining in with Gae from Cherished Hearts at Home . She has a weekly post called Hearts for Home which is open for others to link up with and share some thoughts on home-centred ways. She encourages us to think of 4-6 things to commit to each week to make homelife special and to bless us as keepers at home.

Last week I was quite successful with the items on my list.  School work with my daughter got completed, soup got made and I did have a talk with my son.  As well I continued to work on turning my thoughts towards God first and last in the day and worked on doing something special for hubby each day.  These are two habits that I want to develop so I will be keeping them at the top of my list for this week once again.

1.  I definately want to keep working on turning my thoughts toward God first thing in the morning and every evening at the end of the day.

2.  I also want to keep doing something special for hubby each day this week.  I am looking forward to seeing what surprise each day will bring (for me as well as him).  I thought this would benefit hubby and I am sure it has but it has had a profound effect on me as well.

3.  Finish up a few projects before the Christmas Craft Sale on Saturday.

4.  Get a start on some Christmas baking.

5.  Finish decorating for Christmas.

  1. Hello Alana,
It's good to hear you are keeping up your 2 new habits. I would be very interested in hearing about the effect these are having on you :-) It sounds encouraging! Have a great week. blessings..Trish

  2. I'm with Trish; I'd love to hear more about your "special things for hubby" ideas as well!
Sorry last week's list didn't go so well for you...but glad you're right back in it this week!
    God bless you this Advent!

  3. Alana...

I am so thankful for this post. I tend to focus so much on my children and everything that needs to get done...and I am ashamed to say, neglect my first earthly love ~ my husband.

So thank you dear one, for gently reminding me :)

    In His Love,

  4. Dear Alana,
I see you are focusing on the preparing our homes and hearts for Our Lord. It is a very exciting time.
I am so glad you are finding peace and contentment in your first 2 goals. What a blessing for both you and your husband
Many blessings this week as you strive in your vocation
    God Bless

  5. Oh I like this post very much. I love things that press me in closer to make home life special and to bless us as keepers at home! Thank you for this.

  6. Thank you everyone. I will be doing a post soon on what I have experienced and learned from doing those extra little special things for hubby. ~Alana~
