The Simple Woman's Daybook

For today... Sunday, March 17, 2013

Outside my window... The sky is grey and there is a slight breeze and gentle snow falling and it is cold.

I am thinking... Of how it feels like spring will never arrive.

I am thankful for... Hubbies who give an extra hand when you are feeling sick.

From the kitchen...
~Today: Ham, Scalloped Potatoes, Buns, Broccoli & Cauliflower, Corn, Salad,  Hot Fudge Pudding Cake
~Monday: Sausage and Veggie Bake, Tossed Salad, Banana Cream Pie
~Tuesday: Lemon Pepper Basa, Herbed Noodles, Asparagus, Salad, Chocolate Cake
~Wednesday: Lasagna, Garlic Bread, Ceasar Salad, Hot Fudge Pudding Cake
~Thursday: Crockpot Chicken Stew, Biscuits, Carrots,, Salad, Banana Cream Pie
~Friday: Homemade Pizza, Wings, Ceasar Salad, Garlic Bread, Chocolate Cake
~Saturday: Leftover Smorg

I am wearing... Jeans, Purple Tank, Deep Blue Sweater

I am creating... A x-stitch sampler

I am reading... The Beloved Land by T. Davis Bunn & Jeanette Oke

I am praying for... Health as most of us are under the weather

Pondering these words...
Ability is what you are capable of doing,
Motivation determines what you do,
Attitude determines how well you do it.
~Lou Holtz

I am still hoping... For spring to finally arrive.

I am hearing... Soft music playing in the background.

Around the house... Living room renovations.

One of my favorite things... Redecorating.

A few plans for the rest of the week...
~Monday:  Baking & packing a parcel to send to my daughter
~Tuesday:  Housework
~Wednesday:  Bible Study
~Thursday: Volunteer at MCC, shopping & errands
~Friday:  Housework
~Saturday:  Spend day with hubby
~Sunday: Rest

Here is a picture thought I am sharing...

  1. I don't know where you live, but I can tell you spring is on its way. We had 81° here in Southeast Texas today. It's just a matter of time before you feel it, too.

  2. Alana,
I haven't seen a post by you in a while, I've wondered how you were doing. Spring is finally on its way, we had some beautiful weather over the weekend. Here's hoping you get your Spring sometime soon too.
Love the quote by Lou Holtz. So, so true.
    Have a wonderful week!

  3. Your menu looks so scrumptious! Do you really make dessert every day? Sorry it's still snowing there. We've got light rain, drizzles,
heavy rain, intermittent rain, and mixed rain in our parts! LOL

    1. We have an after supper tradition of taking our tea and dessert and moving to our living room and there we sit and chat about our day :)
