Christmas Pianotop Vignette

This year has been a bit unusual for me
as I am just starting my decorating at the beginning of December
instead of at the beginning of November.

I always thought that when the kids weren't home anymore
I would have oodles of time to get so much done!

Either I am way busier,
or way slower,
or most likely a combination of both.

Anyways, the house is slowly coming together
and I have recruited hubby
to haul totes up and down the stairs.

I always start my Christmas decorating in the living room.

First goes up the tree which you can see here.

Then comes the snowglobes (which you can see here)
that grace the top of the fireplace.

The comes the piano top.
I don't know why but it is always that order.

These angels were a new addition last year.
I had a hard time pulling it all together
and kept going back and adding a little tweak here and there.

I can't recall the last time
I actually put lights on the piano top.

But I am enjoying the soft glow
that it gives off in the evening.

It  may have taken some time
but I am happy with the final result.

  1. Your decorating is always done in such elegant taste, Alana. I love viewing it. Everything is beautiful! Hugs to you.

  2. Beautiful decor Allana. Very soothing. Love the angel. I know you must be busy preparing for X'mas. Yes the festival is on 5th here. We have to light the lamps. It is beautiful to look. Thanks for stopping by. Love and hugs sujatha:)

    1. Thanks Sujatha! Maybe one day I will be able to travel to see your beautiful festival :)

  3. The piano is about the most flat surface in our house so I use it every year for holiday decorations. I sure do like what you've down with yours.

  4. Lovely decor Alana and your angel is beautiful. Such a busy time of the year. Enjoy your lovely decor.

    1. Thanks Manuela! They were a gift from my brother-in-law & family :)

  6. I had to chuckle when you mentioned that you recruited hubby
to haul totes up and down the stairs. This is the first year I asked my hubby to help do the same :-) I am getting wiser. LOL. Love your Christmas decor.

    1. Thanks Debbie! I just wonder why I didn't recruit him sooner - lol!
