My piano top has been bare since putting away the Christmas snowglobes that grace it every year through the Christmas season. I have been mulling over what to do with it and finally decided to feature our wedding since it will be our 20th anniversary in a month.
I went rooting around in the boxes under the eaves and found the box of memories I was looking for. I wanted to feature the bouquet. I draped the handle through a tall vase filled with potpourri to get the height I wanted while the potpourri gives a nice, soft fragrance.
I found our cake topper that I had put together myself. I think it was one of my first crafting attempts and made our cake topper very economical.
And hubby's boutineer.
And our engagement photo and a wedding photo.
It needed a little something more so I added some flat glass beads.
And a heart shaped box and a small treat basket.
And now our living room has a reminder of where it all began 20 years ago and no more big, gaping, empty space :)
I will be joining Gina at the "Shabby Chic Cottage for Transformation Thursdays
And Cindy at "My Romantic Home" for Show and Tell Friday
And Lori and "be different...act normal" for Show and Tell Saturday
Alana...this is just beautiful in its simplicity, but rich in the memories you display. May Our Lord continue to bless your union dear friend.
ReplyDeleteMaria.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this tribute to your 20 years of wedded bliss! How wonderful that you kept all of those items from your Wedding! How did your hubby react? Your vignette is absolutely gorgeous and so full of memories!
ReplyDeleteMaria - Thank you. It is good to go back and remember and it is nice to share those memories with family and friends.
ReplyDeleteLisa - LOL - He said it looked nice and then he studied our enegagement picture for a few minutes and said, "boy was my face thin". I definately got a good chuckle out of that :)
This is just SO romantic:) Congratulations on being married for 20 years! I always love to meet long time married couples, as they are getting so rare these days. Wishing you another happy 20 years, may God bless and keep your marriage healthy and loving:)
ReplyDeleteMrs. Evans - Thank you so much. Hubby and I were just talking last night about how 10 years of marriage now seems to be what 25 years of marriage used to be. ~Alana~
ReplyDeleteHi Alana,
ReplyDeleteYour Vignette is so pretty...what a sweet way to remember your wedding, and anniversary. It's wonderful to still have those things to help you remember. Twenty years is a wonderful accomplishment! Thank you for sharing.
